At AUSfund, we take care of lost and unclaimed super (more about AUSfund). We invest the money, aiming to deliver a moderate return.
It is important to remember that superannuation is a long-term investment and that returns fluctuate from year-to-year.
AUSfund applied a 11.60% crediting rate to members in 2013-2014.
The table below details the historical crediting rates (the rate of return applied to members’ accounts) over the last 1, 3, 5 and 10 years to 30 June 2014.
|Period||Average compound crediting % p.a.|
Investment earnings, in the form of crediting rates, are applied to accounts at the end of each financial year (note that all investments carry the risk of negative returns). The Trustee also determines an interim crediting rate each month that is applied to a member’s account if they leave during that month. The crediting rate is the net return after deductions for tax on earnings, investment management fees, member protection costs and any other costs incurred in administering the fund.
AUSfund only offers one default investment option. The Trustee of AUSfund has adopted a diversified investment strategy which aims to produce competitive returns at a moderate level of risk. However, all investments entail some risk and the performance of the fund is not guaranteed.
