Why do you need my Tax File Number?
While it is not a legal requirement to quote your this,supplying your TFN to us (or your other super fund) can have the following benefits:
Members are required to supply their TFN in order to make personal (after-tax) contributions**
Other than the tax that may ordinarily apply, no additional tax will be deducted when you start drawing down your super benefits
Employer contributions** will be taxed at the usual 15%, not 41.5%.
It will make it much easier to trace different super accounts in your name so that you receive all your super benefits when you retire
*Under the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993, your super fund is authorised to collect your TFN, which will only be used for lawful purposes. These purposes may change in the future as a result of legislative change. The trustee of your super fund may disclose your TFN to another super provider when your benefits are being transferred, unless you request the trustee of your super fund not to disclose your TFN to any other super provider.

**Please note that from 1 January, 2014 the only purpose of AUSfund will be a temporary repository for amounts transferred from other regulated super funds. From 1 January, 2014 AUSfund will not be able to accept any Member or Employer contributions. You should make arrangements with another Regulated super fund if you want your Employer to make super contributions on your behalf or you want to make personal super contributions..
