Global Infrastructure Team

IFM has a seasoned global team of infrastructure experts from all sectors and geographies, supported by in-house legal and tax experts. Team members have experience as senior industry managers, finance professionals, policy makers and regulators. The team brings investment, operational, financial and portfolio management expertise with a track record of managing assets through business cycles, management transitions and regulatory reviews.

The diversity and depth of the team is characterised by the ability to fluently converse in many different languages, higher degree qualifications from leading universities globally, and the experience gained from 36 board seats held across 26 infrastructure assets.

Senior Investment Team

 

Kyle Mangini, Global Head of Infrastructure. Kyle is responsible for IFM’s global infrastructure programme including Australian and international infrastructure funds. Prior to joining IFM, Kyle had over 20 years of investment banking experience focused primarily in the infrastructure sector. Past roles include senior positions with Credit Suisse First Boston and SBC Warburg in the United States, Asia and Australia. Kyle represents IFM on the boards of Melbourne Airport and Pacific Hydro.  Previously he was a director of Essential Power, NT Airports, Brisbane Airport and Ecogen.

Michael Hanna, Head of Infrastructure - Australia. Michael is responsible for evaluating, implementing and managing infrastructure investments in the Australian market and for managing the Melbourne Infrastructure team. Prior to joining IFM, Michael worked for the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance, responsible for managing the State’s risk exposure in the public transport, roads, urban development, and ports and logistics sectors. Previously, Michael was an Associate with global engineers Arup in both the UK and Australia, and was involved in managing planning, funding and implementation issues for major rail and inland waterways infrastructure, tourism and leisure investments, major industrial land banks and telecommunications infrastructure.

Christian Seymour, Head of Infrastructure - Europe. Christian is responsible for the business expansion in Europe and oversight of IFM’s existing European asset portfolio. Christian has been with IFM for over seven years and for the past four years has been based in London. Christian represents IFM on the boards of Anglian Water and Arqiva Limited. Christian has a background in the acquisition, marketing, project development and operations management of energy and related infrastructure developments. Spanning a period of 20 years, he has worked for companies such as Duke Energy, Santos, BHP Billiton, Bechtel and Woodside on medium to large-scale projects, successfully leading multi-disciplinary project teams.

Alec Montgomery, Head of Infrastructure - North America. Alec is responsible for IFM’s infrastructure investment business in North America and managing the New York team. He joined IFM after 15 years of banking experience focused on project and infrastructure finance.  Most recently he was the head of the infrastructure finance business at the Royal Bank of Scotland in New York.  Prior to RBS, he served in senior positions with Credit Agricole Indosuez (New York), Deutsche Bank (New York), and the Union Bank of Switzerland (in New York and Zurich). Before he was a banker, Alec worked in real estate development and provided econometric consulting services to electric utilities.

Julio Garcia, Executive Director. Julio is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing new domestic and international investments and managing existing investments within the Australian infrastructure portfolio. Julio’s experience spans roles in asset management, investment banking and strategy consulting. Prior to joining IFM, Julio held positions with Viant Capital, Bank of America, Robertson Stephens and Gemini Consulting. Julio is a Director of the Port of Brisbane, Ecogen Energy, NT Airports and Wyuna Water.

Michael Thompson, Executive Director. Michael has extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining IFM, he was National Head of Energy Mergers and Acquisitions at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Australia and held senior roles in the Specialised Capital Group at Westpac Banking Corporation, Citigroup and Merrill Lynch.  Michael has represented IFM on the boards of North American Energy Alliance and Colonial Pipeline Company and spent four years working in IFM’s New York office on secondment before returning to Melbourne in late 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Quentin Law, Executive Director. Prior to joining IFM, Mr Law has over 20 years investment banking and corporate advisory experience and has advised on transactions across a range of industries. He was the Managing Director for Orrong Advisory, Director at Citigroup Investment Banking, Associate Director at NM Rothschild & Sons and Director at Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance/Ernst & Young M&A. Mr Law holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Melbourne, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Financial Services Industry of Australasia.

Manoj Mehta, Executive Director. Manoj is responsible for evaluating, implementing and managing European investments. Prior to joining IFM, Manoj held the position of Principal, Corporate Finance with Transport for London, and was responsible for leading the financial and commercial structuring of major transport projects. Previously, Manoj was a Vice President in the Infrastructure Advisory Group at Citigroup  and prior to joining Citigroup, Manoj spent three years with the Boston Consulting Group in Paris, where he was involved in various strategy consulting assignments within the Telecoms, Pharmaceuticals, Finance, Consumer Products and Power industries.

Frederic Michel-Verdier, Executive Director. Frederic's responsibilities include relationship development, evaluation, implementation and management of infrastructure investments for IFM. Prior to joining IFM, Frederic worked as a Director of Corporate Finance at ING Barings in London for seven years, SG Investment Banking for four years, and Ernst and Young for three years. Since joining IFM, Frederic has been involved in the acquisition from Vattenfall of 50Hertz, and led the investment of Dalkia Polska, the holding company for a portfolio of district heating and cogeneration businesses in Poland from Dalkia International, formerly part of Veolia Environment’s energy services division.
